Catering Services for a Touch of Luxury

Would you like someone else to do the cooking during your stay? Whether it’s just for the first night or every day, we have catering services and arrange outside catering.

Here at Barsham Barns Norfolk Holiday Cottages we’ve teamed up with Kelby Light, a fantastic local chef. Norfolk is a great place for local produce and Kelby is passionate about the ingredients he uses so everything is fresh and locally sourced wherever possible.

Kelby can prepare meals that are delivered to the barns or alternatively he can come to the barns to cook for you but will need a few weeks notice for private chef services.

The Menus:

Canape menu

5 for £6.00 per person (min. 8 people) – Drop off

  • Sweet potato tortilla with roast red peppers and goats cheese
  • Smoked trout and horseradish sandwiches
  • Caramelised red onion and feta tartlets
  • Teyska beef and courgette skewer
  • Potato latkes with smoked salmon and crème fraiche
  • Asparagus and Serrano ham tartlets
  • Duck and hoisin wraps

Supper – Set menu A

£16.50 per person – Drop off

  • Hummus and baba gannouj with crudites and pitta
  • Moroccan chicken tagine with apricot and pistachio cous cous
  • Cinnamon custard tart

£17.50 per person – Drop off

  • Poached salmon fillet with courgette, roquette and oven-dried tomatoes
  • Thai beef noodle salad with peanuts and coriander
  • Coconut and mango tartlets with mascarpone and passion fruit

Supper – Set menu C

£18.50 per person – Drop off

  • Ratatouille, mozzarella and basil oil with ciabatta
  • Smoked haddock and prawn fish pie with green beans
  • Eton mess with berries and vanilla whipped cream

Children’s menu

£3.75 per portion – Drop off

  • Shepherds pie with broccoli
  • Beef lasagna, green beans, garlic bread
  • Fish pie and peas

All delivered with reheating instructions

Dinner Party Menu – Drop Off

£28.00 per person (min. 8 people). Choose one item from each course


  • Roast vine tomato tarte tatin wih roquette, olive and goats cheese salad
  • Smoked duck salad with pear confit and baby leaves
  • Lemongrass chicken brochettes with thai vegetable salad


  • Ragout of lamb with flageolet beans, gratin of potatoes with rosemary
  • Duck confit, braised puy lentils, orange and chervil dressing
  • Herb stuffed chicken wrapped in serrano ham, roasted fennel stuffed peppers
  • Salmon and asparagus lasagne with dill and gruyere, spinach salad
  • Sweet potato and spinach curry with pilau rice and dhal


  • Lemon and passion fruit tart with berry coulis
  • Brioche bread and butter pudding with whipped cream
  • Meringues with berries and cider apples
  • Sherry trifle

Dinner Party Menu – Cooked Onsite

£39.00 per person (min. 8 people). Choose one item from each course


  • Red pepper and aubergine roulade, pesto dressing
  • Scallops with garlic and parsley, sauce vierge
  • Haddock and spring onion fishcakes with mache and beetroot, walnut dressing
  • Teriyaki beef with noodles and stir fried vegetables
  • Ginger and soy pork belly with wilted bok choy


  • Seared duck breast with cherry sauce, spinach and onion potato cakes
  • Roast rack of lamb with dauphinoise, green bean, tomato and olive casserole, salsa verde
  • Sea bass fillet with oven dried tomatoes, bouillabaisse sauce, basmati rice
  • Pan fried halloumi with roast asparagus, polenta and caper and lime dressing


  • Orange brulee tart, lemon crème fraiche
  • Vacherin of strawberries with passion fruit cream
  • Coffee profiteroles with chocolate sauce
  • Date crème brulee

Picnic hamper

£12.50 per person (min. 6 people) – Drop off

  • Butter bean, olive and chorizo salad with tomato dressing
  • Spanish Tortilla
  • Salamis/hams
  • Dressed salad leaves
  • Celeriac remoulade and coleslaw
  • Crab and spring onion tartlet/roast vegetable and goats cheese tartlet
  • Freshly baked baguette and butter
  • Chocolate pecan tartlet
  • Manchego cheese and quince paste

Paella – Cooked Onsite

£17.50 per person (min. 20 people)

This makes for a really fun occasion, lunch or evening. The paella takes about 2 hours to cook and the aromas are tantalising as the key ingredients – prawns, mussels, chicken – are fried in the pan with herbs and saffron before the rice and stock are added to complete the dish. And you can watch the whole thing come together with a glass in your hand (banner image above shows Kelby preparing Paella at one of barns).

The paella can be prepared anywhere you like as the gas and cooking pan can be set up in most (flat!) locations.

Traditional paella served with tomato and red onion salad, freshly baked baguette.
