Wicked Wildlife Halloween Week at Pensthorpe Natural Park

A FANGtastic Halloween event over October Half-term at Pensthorpe Natural Park (Just a 15 mins drive from Barsham Barns!).
Discover the grim and gruesome side of nature on the Wicked Wildlife trail around the park, perfect for ghouls and boys of all ages!
What’s more, this year there will be a terrifyingly fun-packed activity programme, with pumpkin carving/decorating*, a mini pumpkin trail, free craft activities and free junior wildlife tours into the depths of the park.
Whilst you’re there you can also visit the Hootz House indoor play area and explore the wonderful wildlife walks.

Autumn Birdwatching in Norfolk & The Snettisham Spectacular
At Stiffkey, Blakeney, Morston & Snettisham
Birdwatching is at its finest along the Norfolk coast through the Autumn Migration as thousands of birds arrive from across Europe. The skies fill with swirling flocks of waders, geese, ducks and thrushes at this time of year! There are two nearby National Trust visitors centres at Stiffkey, Blakeney and Morston and each has detailed walking guides on their website. For an extra-special experience, it is a 40 minute drive to observe the infamous Snettisham Spectacular – where tens of thousands of wading birds take to the skies in giant murmuration as the tide comes in over the mudflats.

Autumn is rutting season! Head to Holkham Estate to observe the huge herd of fallow deer roaming around the park in search of a mate. Stags rutting is a sight to behold, but please watch from a safe distance! There are several events in September and October to join an expert guide on a wildlife safari.
