High Barsham Barn, Norfolk

High Barsham lies in a tranquil little river valley, almost in a world of its own. The barns were part of a historic farming estate and are surrounded by the protected lands of Walsingham Priory. For many years home only to swallows, the barns have now been brought back to life by an architect and his wife who have created elegant retreats that marry the best of traditional Norfolk materials with contemporary design.

High Barsham, once a threshing barn, has now been transformed into stylish and spacious living accommodation. Bronze lanterns and coloured glass illuminate the embroidered cushions and wooden antiques of the interior, combining contemporary detail with a cool and easy eastern influence. There are tranquil views to the south and east, overlooking the picturesque Stiffkey River valley. Outside, the south-facing walled courtyard garden provides complete privacy, inviting visitors to unwind in this peaceful setting.

Cooker, Hob, Microwave, Fridge, Freezer, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Iron. The kitchen is brilliantly equipped for entertaining, open to the dining room so friends can chat while preparing meals. Great for families or adult groups wanting generous space for a dinner party.

Real Fire, Central Heating, Telephone, Free Wireless Internet, House Linen. In summer you can open the doors to the courtyard, letting in the sun and enjoying the fantastic views. In winter the underfloor heating and woodburner keep the barn really cosy and warm.

Dining:

Seating for 10. The dining room has a huge table and seating for twelve.

Terrestrial TV, Freeview TV, DVD player, Radio, CD System, Table Tennis. Book a session for exclusive access the luxurious spa pool or chill out in the steamroom. Also available are two games rooms, one with table tennis and darts, one with table football.

Outside:

Garden, BBQ, Parking, Garden Furniture. There is a fully enclosed courtyard garden which faces southwest with large terrace with table and seating for twelve with wonderful views across the meadows and the Stiffkey river valley.
